Part #3. Bear Proof Bins

Now here is one of those things that are created out of necessity because of the environment. It is the "Bear Proof Bin". Bears used to raid the park bins and eat everything, glass, plastic, cans and whatever food may have been present.

As a result many bears died of stomach ailments. So the 'Bear Proof Bin' was developed, not to protect us but to protect the bear. Insert fingers into handle all the way, lift catch, open bin & deposit rubbish. Catch handle to small and to tricky for bears.

Australia does not have big bears therefore, no "Bear Proof Bins'
